About the Designer:

Wilhelm Kåge (1889–1960) was one of the most influential ceramic artists and designers of 20th-century Sweden. As artistic director of Gustavsberg from 1917 to 1949, he played a key role in the renewal of Scandinavian ceramics, combining functionality, innovation, and a clean, understated aesthetic. He is especially renowned for creating the Argenta series, introduced in 1930, distinguished by its rich green glazes and applied silver decoration. Today, Argenta is regarded as an icon of Nordic design and is highly sought after by collectors around the world.
