About the designer:
Yngve Blixt was a Swedish designer associated with the prestigious glassmaker Orrefors, one of the most influential names in 20th-century Scandinavian art glass. Active mainly during the second half of the century, Blixt developed pieces that combine Swedish glassmaking tradition with a clean, modern language characteristic of Nordic design. His work is often defined by clear, balanced forms and the use of cutting and polishing techniques typical of Orrefors, allowing him to create both decorative and functional objects with an elegant, contemporary aesthetic. His designs form part of the continuation of Sweden’s great glassmaking tradition, alongside other designers linked to the firm such as Lars Hellsten and Edvin Öhrström.
