About the designer:
Alf Svensson (1929–1992) was particularly active from the 1950s through the 1970s, designing tables and seating for a range of influential manufacturers. There is relatively limited information available about Svensson, and while his work spans several areas of furniture design, it is his seating designs that are most widely represented on the vintage market.
During the 1950s, like many of his Swedish and Scandinavian contemporaries, Svensson worked with traditional materials such as teak, rosewood, and richly grained leather to create pieces generally designed in the Scandinavian modern style.
