About the designer:
Frits Henningsen was a Danish designer and cabinetmaker (1889–1965) known for his elegant, handcrafted furniture and strong attention to detail. He trained as a carpenter and later studied design in Germany and France before opening his own workshop in Copenhagen in 1915, where he produced high-quality pieces in small series. His style combines Danish craft tradition with clean lines and balanced proportions, always prioritizing comfort and durability over passing trends. Although for many years he was less known than other names in Scandinavian design, today his sofas, armchairs and tables are highly valued by collectors and lovers of 20th-century furniture.
