Bottle-shaped vase by Carl-Harry Stalhane for the manufacturer Rörstrand Ateljé. Sweden, 1960s.

this vase glazed in shades of red and terracotta has a recognizable glossy glaze from Rörstrand Ateljé.

Height: 25.5 cm. Diameter 10 cm.

Condition:

Excellent state of preservation, no significant use marks.

About the designer:

Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920-1990) began working at Rörstrand in 1938 decorating ceramics for Nylund. In the mid-1940s, he began to develop his own ceramics. Stålhane was praised for his “column-shaped, slender-necked vases with velvety, peach-like surfaces,” as one magazine put it. In 1958, he replaced Nylund as Rörstrand’s artistic director.
