About the designer:
Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920-1990) began working at Rörstrand in 1938 decorating ceramics for Nylund. In the mid-1940s, he began to develop his own ceramics. Stålhane was praised for his “column-shaped, slender-necked vases with velvety, peach-like surfaces,” as one magazine put it. In 1958, he replaced Nylund as Rörstrand’s artistic director.
