About the designer:

Karl-Erik Ekselius (1914–1998) was a Swedish furniture designer associated with post-war Scandinavian modernism, known for creating functional, elegant pieces designed for everyday use. He trained under the renowned designer Carl Malmsten, which influenced his focus on fine craftsmanship and balanced proportions. Throughout his career, he collaborated with Swedish manufacturers such as JOC Vetlanda, developing chairs, armchairs, and tables with clean lines, noble woods, and comfortable, durable design. His furniture reflects the Nordic philosophy of simplicity, quality, and utility, and today continues to be valued by collectors and enthusiasts of 20th-century Scandinavian design.
