About the designer:
Kjell Engman is a Swedish designer and artist best known for his artistic glass work for Kosta Boda, a company he has collaborated with since the late 1970s. Trained at Konstfack, the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Engman has developed a very personal visual language that blends design, art, and storytelling, using glass as an expressive medium. His pieces often feature human figures, animals, and almost theatrical scenes, with a playful and experimental approach that breaks away from the more functional tradition of Scandinavian design, making him one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary Swedish glass.
