About the designer:

Carlos R. Pebaqué is a glass designer and artist born on June 4, 1950, in Montevideo, Uruguay, known for his work in artistic glass in Sweden. In 1971, he was accepted into the Montevideo School of Art, where he first came into contact with glass and founded his own workshop, Tallado en Cristal. After several years of working and traveling, he settled in Orrefors, Sweden, where he studied at the Orrefors Glass School and graduated with top marks in 1983. He later established Gullaskruf Glasateljé (1984) and, in 1991, his own firm, Carlos R. Pebaqué Design AB, in Gullaskruv. His work focuses on creating artistic glass pieces, often using his “Cara” technique, with works produced in collaboration with the glassworks in Målerås.
