About the Designer:

Erich Merten was a furniture designer active in Sweden during the 1960s and 1970s. He collaborated with manufacturers such as HMB Möbler AB in Rörvik, designing coffee tables and other pieces of Scandinavian furniture characterized by clean lines, balanced proportions, and the refined use of fine woods and metal. Although little is known about his biography, his work embodies the functionalism and craftsmanship of mid-century Swedish furniture and is now appreciated by collectors of Scandinavian design.
